74A Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN)
The Army MOS 74A is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Officer. These officers command the Army branch that defends against CBRN weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction. They lead the team that acts as the first line of defense against these weapons.
CBRN Officers have the following responsibilities: Command, direct, and control the activities of Chemical Corps units Plan, employ, and coordinate CBRN systems in support of joint, interagency, intergovernmental, multinational (JIIM), and combined arms operations Plan the employment of nuclear weapons Command or serve as a Platoon Leader of a Chemical unit Plan, coordinate, and direct CBRN operations and training
CBRN Officers are part of the Army branch that specifically defends against the threat of biological and chemical weapons, “dirty bombs”, and Weapons of Mass Destruction.
