74D Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist
The Army MOS 74D is the classification for a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist. These highly trained soldiers are prepared to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear attacks. They are also responsible for preparing others to respond to attacks. CBRN Specialists have the following job duties: Maintain CBRN equipment Conduct CBRN reconnaissance and surveillance Operate decontamination equipment in the event of a disaster Camouflage recon and surveillance equipment
CBRN Specialists may also serve as a CBRN Advanced Individual Training (AIT) Drill Sergeant. In this role, they are responsible for the discipline, morale, health, and welfare of 120 soldiers during a ten week training cycle. After completing advanced individual training, CBRN Specialists may be eligible for worldwide assignments.
