79V Army Reserve Career Counselor (Army Reserve)

The Army MOS 79V is a Retention and Transition Noncommissioned Officer (NCO). They provide career counseling to Army Reserve soldiers.

Their duties include: Identifying soldiers who are eligible for transfer to a troop program unit (TPU) Conducting reenlistment and transition interviews Explaining incentives and benefits Determining soldier eligibility for reenlistment or extension Preparing and processing reenlistments, extensions, and transition

The Army Career Counselor Badge is authorized for wear by enlisted service members who hold the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of 79V.
