89B Ammunition Specialist

The Army MOS 89B is an Ammunition Specialist. These soldiers are responsible for the management of ammunition and explosives. They receive, store, and issue ammunition and explosives, including conventional ammunition, guided missiles, explosives, and rockets. They also perform maintenance, modification, destruction, and demilitarization on ammunition and explosive components.

MOS 89B soldiers are involved in all aspects of ammunition transport, storage, inspection, preparation, and disposal. They provide the required type and quantity of ammunition to the combat user at the time and location it is needed. They also perform ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties.

MOS 89B was known as 55B before fiscal year 2005.
