922A Food Service Technician
The Army MOS 922A is a Food Service Technician Warrant Officer. They are responsible for: Supervising food service activities for installations, commands, or organizations Maintaining operational control over facilities, personnel, and specialized equipment Supervising the procurement, storage, distribution, and preparation of foods Developing, coordinating, and monitoring budget requirements for food service equipment and supplies Planning, training, and implementing changes in nutritional awareness programs Managing food service personnel Training officers, enlisted, and civilian personnel
The 922A is the most senior Food Service Technician. They perform duties in preceding skill levels and require a depth and breadth of technical knowledge.
To become a 922A, soldiers must: Be SGT(P) or above for active component Be SGT or above for Army National Guard or US Army Reserve Have at least five years experience in the feeder MOS within the last eight years Score at the 12th grade level on the Language portion of the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE)
Soldiers are exempt from the TABE requirement if they have completed 6 credit hours of College English/CLEP.
