The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended on June 1, 2024. Its monthly internet discount and connected-device discount are no longer available. There is no current ACP application or renewal. There is no current ranking of ACP tablet providers to apply through. Past participation in ACP does not show that a company currently sells or donates tablets.

Separate three different kinds of assistance

OfferWhat to verify
Nonprofit computer assistanceIts current eligibility rules, available tablet models, full price, and whether donated equipment is available
Commercial tablet promotionRequired service, installment credits, cancellation costs, taxes, and the device’s condition
Lifeline serviceEligibility for the monthly service discount and the provider’s plan terms; a tablet is not a federal benefit

The former ACP device benefit was up to $100 toward an eligible laptop, desktop computer, or tablet, with a household payment of more than $10 and less than $50. Old copays and device lists should not be treated as today’s prices.

Find a current device offer

PCs for People and Human-I-T publish eligibility information for low-cost computers and other devices. Their prices, stock, and any donation opportunities are separate from Lifeline. Ask a school, library, or local community organization about loaned equipment or funded device assistance as well.

Check the organization’s official site and confirm whether it serves your address. If an offer has no clear sponsor, current terms, or named device, do not assume an old ACP logo makes it available.

If you also need service help

Lifeline eligibility is separate: household income at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines, or participation in SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, or specified Tribal programs. Former ACP enrollment does not automatically qualify a household.

Start with USAC’s application instructions. California, Oregon, and Texas have state-specific processes. After approval, choose a participating provider serving your address and complete enrollment with that company. Check the total monthly charge, data allowance, and any equipment cost before agreeing.

USAC’s Lifeline guidance describes a service benefit. A provider may separately offer equipment, but there is no universal Lifeline tablet catalog, guaranteed approval time, or promised shipping date. Request those details directly for the actual order.
