No current laptop benefit is available through ACP at Walmart or any other retailer. The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) ended on June 1, 2024. Its internet and device discounts are no longer available, and new applications are closed.
Was ACP a Walmart laptop voucher?
No. The federal device benefit was a discount applied by a participating broadband provider toward a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet. It required a customer contribution of more than $10 and less than $50. It did not guarantee a free laptop from a particular retailer.
This guide does not have verified evidence for the earlier claim that Walmart operated a nationwide ACP laptop distribution program. That claim and its application instructions have been removed.
Current computer assistance
For a computer or tablet, check PCs for People and Human-I-T. These nonprofits publish their own eligibility and pricing rules. Low-cost devices are not necessarily free; any donated-device offer depends on funding and stock.
If you need a laptop for school or employment, ask your school, workforce office, or local library about equipment loans or grants. Verify whether you would own or borrow the device and whether there are fees.
What to check in a retail deal
Compare the total price, operating system, memory, battery condition, warranty, and return period. A marketplace seller is not necessarily the retailer itself. Financing and bill-credit promotions are purchase arrangements, not proof of a government grant.
Will Lifeline pay for the laptop?
Lifeline is a service discount and does not reimburse a retail laptop purchase. Check Lifeline eligibility if you also need help with a qualifying phone or internet bill. Apply separately through official program instructions.
