The Marine Corps MOS 0844 is a Field Artillery Fire Control Man. This MOS is also known as a Marine Corps Field Artillery Cannoneer. The MOS 0844 performs duties that are essential to delivering accurate artillery fire. These duties include: Preparing fire control equipment for movement and operation Operating field communications equipment to support operations Performing position surveys Computing fire direction Directing large-caliber cannon or artillery

The MOS 0844 is considered a physically demanding occupation. They are eligible for MEU deployments and duty stations as Range Control safety staff.
