0847 artillery meteorological man

The Marine Corps MOS 0847 is for Artillery Meteorological Men. These Marines help with accurate artillery fire by observing weather conditions and distributing weather data for field artillery and mortar fire control. They also prepare and operate acoustic sensors.

Other duties include: Operating computer systems for computations, digital communications, command and control, and imagery development Preparing artillery for movement, deployment, and combat firing Inspecting and preparing ammunition

The MOS 0847 is assigned after completing formal school.
