1345 operator
The Marine Corps MOS 1345 is for Engineer Equipment Operators. These operators use heavy equipment to prepare areas for combat missions or construction projects. They operate equipment such as bulldozers, graders, and backhoes to construct roads, trenches, and bunkers. They can be assigned to units including light armored reconnaissance, combat engineer battalions, and Marine wing support squadrons.
The equipment operators use gasoline or diesel engine equipment for: Material handling, Earthmoving, Grading, Excavation, Logging, Clearing, Landing operations.
Depending on the unit, the operators may use equipment for material handling or engineering. They may work 1-8 hours a day.
