2146 battle tank technician

The Marine Corps MOS 2146 is for a Main Battle Tank (MBT) Repairer/Technician. These technicians perform basic automotive duties, such as inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the Marine Corps MBT, Tank Retriever (M88A2), and Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB). They also train, supervise, and coordinate maintenance and recovery operations.

The MOS 2146 also includes Heavy Ordnance Vehicle (HOV) Repairer/Technician duties. These include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the Marine Corps Combat Tank (M1A1), Recovery Vehicle (M88A2), Armored Vehicle Launcher Bridge (AVLB), and the Assault Breacher Vehicle (AVB).
