2831 technician

The Marine Corps MOS 2831 is for AN/TRC-170 technicians. These technicians install, test, and repair multi-channel communications equipment. They also tune and align systems, adjust audio or data levels, and diagnose equipment faults.

Typical duties include: Using test equipment to check circuit quality Diagnosing equipment faults to the component level Replacing faulty parts or components

MOS 2831 technicians work with line-of-sight (LOS) and troposcatter data communications systems. They may work in multiple countries in the Western Pacific area, including Korea, Thailand, and Australia.
