The Marine Corps MOS 2847 is the military occupational specialty for Ground Electronics Telecommunications and Information Technology Systems Maintainer. Marines with this MOS are trained to diagnose, modify, and repair telephone equipment, switchboards, computers, and other related equipment. They also manage network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless networking equipment. They are the first point of contact for major technical issues, such as power outages and system failures.
