2887 artilary electronic technician

The Marine Corps MOS 2887 is for an Artillery Electronics Technician. These technicians are trained to repair and maintain equipment used in precision artillery strikes and radar. This includes equipment used as counter artillery radar and meteorological systems. They are also trained to operate and maintain Counter Mortar Radar Systems, Meteorological Measuring Systems, Chronograph Systems, and Ancillary Ground Radar Systems.

The Ground Electronics Maintenance Occupational Field includes the installation, inspection, servicing, repair, modification, recovery, overhauling, rebuilding, testing, and calibration of electronic equipment and systems used by Marine Corps Ground Forces.
