3044 contingency contract specialist

The Marine Corps 3044 MOS is a lateral move MOS that integrates highly qualified enlisted Marines into the acquisition field. The mission of the 3044 MOS is to deploy in support of contingency operations and other operations of the Department of Defense.

The 3044 MOS requires basic contingency contract specialists to perform various duties related to the acquisition of supplies and non-personal services. These duties include purchasing supplies and services from commercial and government sources.

The 3044 MOS is attained upon graduation from Air Force Contracting School. Marines who attain the 3044 MOS will fill professional acquisition coded billets as OCS Advisors or as KOs.
