3112 distribution management

The Marine Corps MOS 3112 is a Distribution Management Specialist. These specialists are experts in all modes of transportation and study federal and civilian transportation guidelines. They use these guidelines to transport Marines, civilians, and goods when needed.

The distribution management occupation field is made up of three sections: passenger travel, personal property, and freight. The job is paper heavy and helps ensure Marines and their families have a stress-free move.

MOS 3112 Marines within the MLGs are trained to perform in-theater sustainment receiving, shipping, in-transit visibility, and distribution functions. Base/Station 3112 Marines perform deployment support functions relating to origin to POE via commercial modes.

In fiscal year 2022, the Distribution Management (3112) and Preservation, Packaging, Packing, and Marking (3112) occupational specialties were merged to create an occupational field that can adapt to Expeditionary Advance Base Operations (EABO).
