The Marine Corps military occupational specialty (MOS) 3381 is for Food Service Specialists. These specialists are responsible for all aspects of food preparation, including: Procurement, Storage, Distribution, Cooking, Baking, Ordering, Sanitizing.

Food Service Specialists work in both garrison and field environments. For field deployments, they may help plan how much food is needed. They may also perform administrative tasks such as: Funding, Requisitioning, Purchasing, Receiving, Accounting.

Typical duties include: Preparing fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and poultry for cooking Seasoning food Baking bread and pastry products Verifying incoming shipments Preparing reports of supplies received Preparing, editing, and consolidating back-orders for subsistence stores Quality assurance evaluations
