5831 correctional specialist

The Marine Corps Correctional Specialist (MOS 5831) is a primary military occupational specialty (PMOS). They work at Naval brigs and correctional custody units. Their primary tasks are to keep the peace and prevent escapes. They guard and supervise confined personnel, which can include enemy prisoners, absentees, and deserters. They monitor and regulate inmates to ensure order is kept and that all prisoners are safe.

The MOS 5831 is open from the Master Gunnery Sergeant rank all the way down through Private.
