6114 helicopter mechanic

The Marine Corps Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 6114 is for helicopter mechanics who work on UH/AH-1 aircraft. Their primary job is to inspect and maintain the airframes and components of their assigned aircraft. They may also be assigned duties related to flight line operation.

The training to become an aircraft mechanic takes 20 months of full-time enrollment. The curriculum prepares students for the job and for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification.
