6156 helicopter airframe mechanic

The Marine Corps Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 6156 is for Tiltrotor Airframe Mechanics. These mechanics are assigned to MV-22 units. They inspect, maintain, and repair all aspects of helicopter and tiltrotor airframes.

The aircraft maintenance occupational fields include direct and indirect support of the air frames and power plant package of all aviation aircraft weapons systems. While the skills required to provide this support are similar, the systems being supported are diverse.
