6222 aircraft mechanic

The Marine Corps MOS 6222 is a fixed-wing aircraft power plants mechanic. These mechanics inspect, maintain, test, and repair all components of an aircraft power plant. They also perform complete repairs of aircraft power plants and power plant systems.

The F-402 is a single engine that is installed on all AV-8B aircraft. The F-402 is the aircraft that MOS 6222 mechanics inspect, maintain, test, and repair.

Each MOS designates a specific system for which marines will be trained on. The first two numbers of the MOS designate the primary position of mechanic (60), helicopters (61), and fixed-wing aircraft (62).
