0209 - Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Intelligence Planner

Summary

The MAGTF Intelligence Planner is a field grade Marine Intelligence Officer that serves at senior level billets as a representative of the Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Enterprise (MCISRE).

0209s integrate practical tactical and operational level intelligence knowledge and experience within the larger MAGTF, MCISRE, and Marine Corps operational framework.

Within the fleet marine forces/operating forces and naval components, the MAGTF Intelligence Planner generally serves on MAGTF and major subordinate command staffs, and is familiar with MAGTF/MCISRE intelligence structure, processes, and capabilities.

The MAGTF Intelligence Planner can plan intelligence operations and can lead the intelligence effort for the Marine Corps planning process (MCPP), joint planning process (JPP), and other service level-processes.

Within the supporting establishment, the MAGTF Intelligence Planner represents the MCISRE in the generation and employment of intelligence capabilities, and the integration of MCISRE capabilities within the service and joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational (JIIM) communities.

Within the joint, coalition, and intelligence community billets, the MAGTF Intelligence Planner represents Marine Corps intelligences interests and equities.

They can define requirements, develop plans, guidance, policies, and interpret and apply external plans, guidance, and policies to a command/organization.

Prerequisites

Completed the Tactical Intelligence Officer Course (TIOC) (N46CU22), Marine Corps Detachment, Dam Neck, VA.

Complete one of the entry-level Intelligence Courses for the following NMOSs: 0203 (N46HFM2); 0204 (N46HFW2); 0206 (N46CUK2); or 0207 (N460HU2) located at Marine Corps Intelligence Schools, Dam Neck, VA.

Security requirement: must meet sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility guidelines based on a single scope background investigation/ T5 investigation.

Attain selection or promotion to Major.

Complete Resident or Non-Resident Expeditionary Warfare School.

For the active duty and reserve officers, complete the MAGTF Intelligence Planners Course (MIOC) (N460JJ2), Marine Corps Detachment, Dam Neck, VA.

The Intelligence T&R Manual will be updated to relabel 0202 standards as 0209 standards.

If referring to a version of Intelligence T&R Manual that does not contain 0209 standards, 0202 standards will apply as duties and tasks.
