0603 - Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Communications Planner

Summary

MAGTF Communications Planners integrate and coordinate with the plans sections or operations sections of their respective command.

MAGTF Communications Planners must identify and clearly translate communications and Department of Defense Information Network Operations (DODIN Ops) capabilities, limitations, and opportunities in all phases of the planning cycle.

They integrate DODIN Ops with cyberspace operations, specifically focused on supporting defensive cyberspace operations and directing the planning efforts of the systems planning and engineering cell in their respective unit.

The MAGTF Communications Planner will also plan, integrate, and synchronize communications and DODIN Ops with other information related capabilities such as electronic warfare, space operations, and offensive cyberspace operations.

Example billets are MEF G-6 (Ops, Plans) MEB G-6 (ops, plans), SPMAGTF (ops, plans), MEU (S-6), communications battalion (S-3), MWCS (S-3).

Prerequisites

Must be a U.S.

citizen.

Must possess the PMOS of 0602.

Security requirement: top secret with sensitive compartmented information access eligibility.
