0628 - Tactical Transmission Systems Operator Maintainer
Summary
Tactical Transmission Systems Operator Maintainers install, operate, and maintain various wideband satellite communication terminals operating in the AEHF band.
Marines will be trained to operate the secure mobile anti-jam reliable tactical terminals (SMART-T) to integrate communication networks and enable command and control.
Operators will be familiar with spectrum analyzing tools, specialized computer hardware/software programs, transmission security (TRANSEC), and communications security (COMSEC).
Skill progression training for sergeant through corporal is the Transmissions Supervisor Course located at Camp Pendleton (M10BNPB), Camp Lejeune (M03BNPG), and Okinawa (M22BNP4) at the regional communications training centers.
Prerequisites
Must possess the PMOS 0627.
Requirements
Complete the SMART-T Operator/Maintainer Course (USMC) (A09DTN1).
