0918 - Water Safety/Survival Instructor
Summary
Marine Corps Instructors of water survival train and equip Marines with the requisite knowledge and skills to successfully negotiate water obstacles and survive in emergency situations in aquatic environments.
Additionally, they employ water survival skills of increasing levels of ability designed to reduce fear, raise self-confidence, and develop Marines with the ability to survive in water.
Prerequisites
Must be the grade of E-4 or above.
Must possess a current 1st class PFT/CFT.
Must have at least one year of obligated service time remaining.
Must complete all aquatic events required by the NAVMC 11627.
Must have a current water survival intermediate swim qualification or higher.
Requirements
Complete one of the CG TRNGCOM approved Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival Courses (N30L9N1, N30L9NM, M03L9N6, or M03L9NM) at Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific in San Diego, CA; or Marine Corps Water Survival School in Camp Lejeune, NC.
