1834 - Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Crewmember

Summary

Amphibious Combat Vehicle Crewmember performs various duties incident to the operation and maintenance of the vehicle, to include tactical employment, precision gunnery using on board vehicle weapon systems, and maneuver.¿¿ACV Crewmembers employ their vehicle during shore to shore, ship to objective maneuver, and during subsequent operations ashore.¿¿Typical duties may include preparing the ACV and associated equipment for movement and combat, locating, and engaging targets, driving the ACV in the water and ashore, and performance of preventive and corrective maintenance.

Prerequisites

Must possess a GT score of 90 or higher.

Must have a WS-B(+) water survival qualification.

Must have vision correctable to 20/20 in both eyes.

Must have normal color vision.

Security requirement: must be secret security eligible.

Must possess the psychological and physiological qualifications required for licensing as an Ordnance Vehicle Operator; see reference (cz).

Must have a valid state driver’s license and a past driving record appropriate for issue of SF-86 as evidenced by a search of the national driver register.

Must meet initial strength test standards associated with PEF assignments as listed in the glossary (pg.

xiv) prior to shipping to recruit training.

Must meet MOS classification standards as listed in the glossary (pg.

xiv) prior to graduating from recruit training.

Requirements

Complete the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Basic Crewmember Course (M10AH23), Camp Pendleton, CA.

Complete the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Operational New Equipment Training 2.0, licensed by the program manager.

Entry level and lateral move Marines must complete the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Basic Crewmember Course (ACV-BC) for assignment as a primary MOS.

Must attain WS-I water survival qualification prior to completion of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Basic Crewmember Course (ACV-BC).

Must complete the Submerged Vehicle Egress Trainer (SVET) Qualification prior to completion of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Basic Crewmember Course (ACV-BC).

Corporals must complete the Assault Amphibian Vehicle Commander Course.
