6017 - Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR)

Summary

The Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) is a highly skilled person responsible for conducting and managing the maintenance department’s QA effort.CDQARs are assigned to production work center but act in the same capacity as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).

Prerequisites

Completed the NALCOMIS (optimized) OMA Quality Assurance Administration Course (C-555-0046).

Completed the appropriate Work Center Supervisor Course: OMA (C-555-0045) or IMA (C-555-0041).

Requirements

Completion of the 5000 Level Training and Readiness Syllabus.

Designation by the Commanding Officer or Maintenance Officer.

Duties

The following is a summary of duties.

For a complete listing of duties and tasks, refer to reference (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 and (bn) NAVMC 4790.1: Assist their work center supervisor in managing all program requirements in accordance with reference (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 as applicable to their work center.

Assist their work center’s shift supervisor by ensuring all tasks and priorities passed by maintenance control are accomplished in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

Ensure all processes as followed per reference (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 and other applicable directives/standard operation procedures (SOP).

Perform QAR level inspections.

Skilled in researching, reading, and interpreting drawings, maintenance technical manuals, directives and data.

Lead and manage small groups of personnel assigned to a task/job.

Ensure all maintenance actions are performed in accordance with applicable maintenance instructions.

Supervise and inspect all maintenance actions and related activities in progress for their respective work centers.

Ensure all maintenance actions are correctly documented in accordance with reference (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2.

Verify the accuracy of all required material requests prior to forwarding to maintenance control.

Keep their work center supervisor/shift supervisor appraised of all maintenance actions and related activities in progress.

Ensure work center supervisor/shift supervisor understands pertinent information that must be passed to maintenance control, quality assurance, or other work center(s).

Train and mentor other personnel in all programmatic, maintenance, administrative, and training aspects within their specific areas of expertise.

Ensure all training is correctly documented in accordance with reference(s) (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 and (bn) NAVMC 4790.1.

Utilize a variety of information systems in the performance of their duties.

Basic computer skills are required.

Be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be able think critically in order to solve complex problems.

Strong written and verbal abilities are required.

Upon meeting all eligibility listed for the certification of this MOS, the individual recipient shall coordinate with their unit administration department to ensure this MOS is added to their Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) in order to accurately reflect the corresponding aviation qualification/designation within their permanent record.
