6033 - Aircraft Nondestructive Inspection Technician

Summary

Aircraft Nondestructive Inspection Technicians perform nondestructive testing of metals in aircraft structures and aircraft/engine components.

This MOS will be assigned only to qualified Aircraft Structures or Hydraulic Pneumatic Mechanics, MOSs 6062, 6092, 615X or 625X.

Prerequisites

Must possess one of the following PMOSs: 6062, 6092, 615X, or 625X.

Completed the Training and Readiness (T&R) 4000 SSSP for the respective PMOS.

Must have a minimum of 12 months credibility in the rank of SSgt to Cpl.

Must have a minimum AFQT score of 55 or a minimum GT score of 105.

Must have a minimum of 30 months’ time in service.

Must have a minimum of 24 months obligated service upon completion of the Naval Aircraft Nondestructive Inspection Technician Course.

Must pass ionizing radiation physical in accordance with NAVMEDP 5055.

Must pass annual eye examination for nondestructive inspectors.

Requirements

Complete the Naval Aviation Nondestructive Inspection Technician Class C1 Course (N23C002).

Respective nondestructive inspection technician qualification syllabus within advanced skills management per reference (ad) COMNAVFORINST 4790.2 and (bn) NAVMC 4790.1.
