Summary

Fixed-Wing Aircraft Loadmaster, KC-130; are mission essential flight crew members who are responsible for aircraft preparation and configuration prior to, during, after and between missions.

Prerequisites

Must be a U.S.

citizen.

Must have normal color perception.

Must have 36 months obligated services.

Must have WS-B(+) water survival qualification.

Security requirement: secret security clearance eligibility.

Volunteer for duties involving flight as an aircraft crewmember.

Must possess an EL score of 105 or GT score of 105 or MM score of 105 or higher.

Must be physically qualified and aeronautically adapted for all duties involving flying as a Naval Aircrewman as required by the Manual of the Medical Department, U.S.

Navy with normal depth perception.

Requirements

Complete the Naval Air Crewman Candidate School Course (N237C3).

Complete the KC-130J Loadmaster Initial Accession Aircrew Course (M0460H2 or M1760H5).

Active duty must have 36 months obligated service time while reserve Marines must have 180 days of active duty time remaining upon completion of the Formal Course (M0460H2 or M1760H5).

Marines who completed all requirements listed above in FY20 and later without completing Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Course are considered MOS qualified.

Duties

The following is a summary of duties.

Lance Corporals through Gunnery Sergeants perform the following: Assist in operational/tactical planning and execution of missions.

Load planning and weight and balance calculations.

Assist in pre-flight/post flight of the aircraft.

Assist in start-up/shut-down of the aircraft.

Assist in ground taxi/take-off/in-flight/landing duties.

Obstacle detection/avoidance.

Threat detection/avoidance.

Embark/debark and securing of passengers/cargo.

Loading and transportation of hazardous material.

Operation of aircraft/mission/weapons systems.

Liaison between pilots and ground personnel.

Assist in execution of emergency procedures.

Employ risk mitigation concepts: Crew resource management.

Operational resource management.

Inspect and maintain cargo/passenger loading aids, restraint systems, and mission gear.

Basic computer skills.

Be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong written and verbal communications skills are necessary in the performance of their duties.

Utilize a multitude of information management systems.

Utilize aircrew training management database system to track aircrew training progression and qualifications.

Utilize maintenance training management database systems, to track maintenance training progression and qualifications.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed in the performance of their duties.

Master Sergeants and Master Gunnery Sergeants perform the following: Responsible to the commanding officer for the qualification and professional development of enlisted aircrew Marines.

Liaison between the maintenance and operations departments.

Coordinate ground and flight requirements of enlisted aircrew personnel.

Assign enlisted aircrew to flight schedules and deployment rosters.
