8624 - Small Unmanned Logistics System-Air Specialist
Summary
The Small Unmanned Logistics System-Air (ULS-A) Specialist is responsible for planning, integrating, and executing Small ULS-A operations in support of Stand-In Forces (SIF) and the MAGTF.
They integrate small ULS-A capabilities with unit operations IAW mission orders, scheme of maneuver, distribution and sustainment, airspace control measures, frequency assignments, airspace and range regulations.
Small ULS-A Specialist training and readiness skill progression includes small ULS-A operator, small ULS-A instructor, small ULS-A evaluator, and small ULS-A program manager.
Prerequisites
Must possess a GT score of 90 or higher.
Security requirement: none.
Must have normal color vision and depth perception.
Must be in accordance with the OPNAVINST 3710.7U, para 8.8.1, MANMED 15-85.
Requirements
Complete the Small ULS-A Operator Initial Qualification Training in at least on type of USMC Program of Record (POR) Small ULS-A at the training and logistics support activity (TALSA)-east (CAMLEJ); TALSA-west (CAMPEN); or any other TALSA certified to conduct Small ULS-A training.
Once initial qualification is obtained, the 8003 is required to sustain currency in assigned Small ULS-A in accordance with T&R standards reference (h).

Duties

Typical Small ULS-A-Operator duties include: Maintain individual training and proficiency per T&R standards.
Integrate Small ULS-A capabilities with unit operations in accordance with scheme of maneuver, range regulations, distribution and sustainment, airspace control measures, frequency assignments, airspace regulations and mission orders.
Perform Small ULS-A missions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Report any mishaps to the unit small ULS-A-PM and safety officer.
Conduct operator level maintenance and repairs on assigned Small ULS-A equipment.
Provide the Unit Small ULS-A -PM with a copy of all Small ULS-A course graduation certificates.
Maintain a Small ULS-A logbook.
Provide copies to Unit Small ULS-A - PM on a monthly basis for inclusion into the Individual Training Record (ITR).
Track individual training and notify the Unit Small ULS-A - PM via the chain of command if recertification is required.
