9703 - Level IV Joint Qualified Officer
Summary
Level IV Joint Qualified Officers are general officers in the grade of Brigadier General and above who have been awarded the Level IV joint qualification designation by the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, in accordance with policy established by the Secretary of Defense pursuant to reference (ao), Chapter 38 of Title 10, U.S.
Code.
This MOS appears in the special information block on the Master Brief Sheet of the Basic Individual Record.
This MOS will never appear as a primary or additional.
Prerequisites
Must be serving in the grade of Brigadier General or above.
Requirements
The joint MOS will be awarded by USD (P&R) and assigned only by the Commandant of the Marine Corps (MMSL, Senior Leader Management Branch), and will be used primarily for administrative purposes.
Must accrue 24 joint qualification points or have been awarded full general officer (GO) joint duty credit from an assignment after completing at least 14 months in a GO joint duty billet.
The officer must be a GO for pay purposes for at least 1 day while filling the GO joint billet.
Must successfully complete capstone.
