CE Construction Electrician
The abbreviation “CE” stands for Construction Electrician, an enlisted rating in the United States Navy.
Construction Electricians are responsible for keeping the Navy’s power grid running.
They install, operate, service, and overhaul electric generating and distribution systems, wire communications systems, and associated equipment.
They also work with telephone systems, lighting, PA systems, and alarm systems.
Construction Electricians must be proficient with tools, equipment, and machines. They may perform their duties in climates ranging from tropical to arctic. They must be able to climb to the top of a 35-foot wooden pole, using gaffs (metal spikes on climbing boots).
