DC Construction Electrician

The Navy MOS DC stands for Damage Controlman. Damage Controlmen are the “first responders” of the fleet.

They perform a wide range of duties, including: Maintaining and repairing damage control equipment and systems Planning and supervising tasks related to: Damage control Ship stability Preserving watertight integrity Fire fighting Chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) warfare defense Instructing personnel in damage control and CBR defense

Damage Controlmen also operate firefighting systems and equipment, and chemical, biological, and radiological defense equipment.

Applicants must have normal color vision. Other recommended aptitudes include: Using portable tools, equipment, and machines

The damage controlman’s motto is “Don’t give up the ship”.
