EM Electrician's Mate

The Military Occupation Code (MOC) for Electrician’s Mate (EM) in the Navy is EM-4615.

An EM is responsible for: Preventing power failures Operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on Navy ships Standing watch on generators, switchboards, control equipment, and electrical equipment Operating a ship’s electrical power generation systems and lighting systems

To become an EM, you must: Have normal color perception Have a high school diploma or equivalent Complete 8 weeks of basic training Complete 18 weeks of technical training Be a U.S. citizen

The salary for an EM in the Navy is $42,000 annually.
