EO Equipment Operator

The Navy’s Equipment Operator (EO) MOS operates heavy transportation and construction equipment. They use this equipment to support military construction projects, disaster relief efforts, and other missions around the world.

EOs operate equipment such as: Trucks Bulldozers Backhoes Graders Forklifts Cranes Asphalt equipment Rock crushing equipment Well-drilling equipment

EOs may also: Rig cable assemblies and change attachments for lifting and pile-driving operations Read and interpret blueprints Perform as blasters for construction

EOs must be able to: Keep records Do detailed work Perform well as part of a team Have normal color perception with stereoscopic vision Be in good physical condition Have normal hearing Possess a valid driver’s license

The EO enlistment program is five years. After completing initial training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes (known as Boot Camp), EOs report to Class “A” Technical School at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for 11 weeks.
