ETN Electronics Technician, Nuclear Power

ETN stands for Electronics Technician, Nuclear Power.

ETNs are enlisted Navy sailors who specialize in the electronics of nuclear operations. They operate, maintain, and regulate the electronic systems that control nuclear power plants on surface and submarine ships.

ETNs also supervise and administer Naval Nuclear propulsion plant operations.

ETNs: Understand reactor, electrical, and mechanical theory Operate and perform maintenance on the electronic systems that make the reactor on Navy ships run Move control rods in and out and start up the reactor Go through the Naval Nuclear Training pipeline to become Reactor Operators

The Navy Occupational Specialty (NOS) codes for ETNs are D110, D111, or D112.
