PR Aircrew Survival Equipmentman
The PR rating in the U.S. Navy stands for Aircrew Survival Equipmentman.
PRs are responsible for: Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing: Parachutes Seat pans Survival equipment Flight and protective clothing and equipment Packing and rigging parachutes Packing and equipping liferafts Troubleshooting oxygen systems Repairing and testing oxygen regulators and liquid oxygen converters
PRs are responsible for maintaining the safety equipment that could save a Naval Aviator’s life in an emergency. They are most common at the PO3 and P02 levels.
