SB Special Warfare Boat Operator

Special Warfare Boat Operators (SB) perform maritime special operations in open ocean, littoral, and riverine environments.

They are experts in: Special operations tactics Small unit leadership Mission planning Cultural awareness Advanced weapons tactics Depot level maintenance Tactical communications Advanced craft operations Preventive and corrective maintenance Navigation

SBs perform duties such as: Conducting maritime insertions and extractions of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Collecting information and intelligence on enemy military installations in coastal areas Performing parachute and helicopter insertion operations

To become an SB, candidates must: Meet the minimum Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) score Be 30 years of age or younger Pass the SWCC basic crewman training and crewman qualification training Graduate from SWCC Complete an additional nine months of advanced training to become SOF Medics
