SO Special Warfare Operator

Special Warfare Operators (SO) in the U.S. Navy perform maritime and land-based Special Operations in various environments.

They perform tasks such as: Combing the depths of the sea for explosives Jumping from helicopters to save others Embarking on classified assignments

To become a Special Warfare Operator, you must meet the following requirements: Minimum education: High school or equivalent Physical requirements: SEAL training is physically and mentally demanding Basic training: 8 weeks Technical training: 54-58 weeks Tech school location: Great Lakes, IL and Coronado, CA U.S. citizenship required

Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) operators: Drive and provide large-caliber gunfire support on specialized high-tech, high-speed, and low-profile Surface Combatant Craft Infiltrate and exfiltrate Navy SEALs on Special Operations missions worldwide

SWCC training is 22 weeks long and consists of: 2 weeks of Indoctrination 8 weeks of Basic Crewman Training (BCT) 12 weeks of advanced Crewman Qualification Training (CQT)
