YN Yeoman
A yeoman (YN) in the US Navy is a deck rating who works in administrative offices on ships and stations.
They perform clerical and secretarial work, including: Writing business and personal letters, notices, directives, forms, and reports Preparing, data entry, typing, and routing of official correspondence and other essential reports Sorting and distributing all official and personal mail Serving as shipboard pay clerks Storing classified records and reports Maintaining media coordination with Navy public affairs officials Organizing command-level ceremonies
Yeomans have ranks from Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4) to Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6).
To be a yeoman in the Navy, you need: High school or equivalent education 8 weeks of basic training 7 weeks of technical training U.S. citizenship Desired high school courses: typing, keyboarding
