CM Construction Mechanic
The Navy MOS CM, or Construction Mechanic, is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling automotive, construction, and material-handling equipment.
They also: Keep equipment maintenance records Prepare requisitions and reports Train and supervise subordinates in maintenance and repair procedures and techniques Assign and supervise activities of assistants who locate, analyze, and correct malfunctions in equipment Research and requisition repair parts
CMs also diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures. They repair and maintain diesel and gasoline engines, and adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems. They also maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies.
CMs are part of the Seabee Community, which also includes Builder (BU), Construction Electrician (CE), Engineering Aide (EA), Equipment Operator (EO), Steelworker (SW), and Utilitiesman (UT)
