Enginemen (EN) in the Navy operate, maintain, and repair diesel engines, gas turbine engines, and other auxiliary equipment on Navy ships.
They also: Align fuel, water, and air piping systems Clean, lubricate, and adjust diesel engines, reduction gears, air compressors, and other ship parts Operate and maintain desalinization plants Repair or replace valves, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and control devices Make entries into and analyze machinery operating records and reports
To become an Engineman, you must: Have a high-school diploma or equivalent Be a U.S. citizen eligible for security clearance Have normal hearing
