FCA Fire Controlman (AEGIS)
Fire Controlman (Aegis) (FCA) is a Navy rating that involves operating and maintaining Aegis Weapon Systems (AWS) and subsystems.
FCAs are responsible for: Operating and maintaining 3D radar, fire control systems, and computer and networking systems Providing weapon direction system employment recommendations for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Surface Warfare (SUW) Performing organizational and intermediate maintenance on digital computer equipment, subsystems, and systems Operating and maintaining combat and weapons direction systems, surface-to-air and surface to-surface missile systems, and gun Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing RADAR, computers, networks, data display systems, and integrated weapons system components
FCAs are some of the highest skill Sailors in the Navy. They alternate between service at shore commands and aboard ships in the U.S. and overseas.
Over 600 men and women currently work as FCAs in the Navy.
