633X Aviation Maintenance Specialty LDO
The Aviation Maintenance Specialty LDO (633X) in the U.S. Navy plans and supervises aviation maintenance programs. They also develop quality assurance standards and procedures to ensure flight safety and proper material condition of aircraft.
Aviation Maintenance Duty Officers (AMDOs) manage every piece of over eighty aircraft plus hundreds of personnel.
They are responsible for: Planning and supervising aviation maintenance programs Developing quality assurance standards and procedures Managing every piece of over eighty aircraft Managing hundreds of personnel
To become a Navy AMDO, applicants must: Be American citizens no older than 42 years old Have a qualifying business-related or technical Bachelor’s degree Score at least a 45 on the Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR) exam
Limited Duty Officers (LDOs) are technical managers. They are interchangeable with Chief Warrant Officers up to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
