641X Administration Specialty LDO
Administration Limited Duty Officers (LDOs) are technical managers in the US Navy.
They perform duties in the following areas: Administration, Manpower planning, Pay and personnel management, Organization planning, Protocol, Personnel assignments, Training, Postal functions, Printed materials.
LDOs are experts and leaders in the Navy enlisted rating or Marine Corps enlisted MOS from which they came. They may succeed to command activities which have a primary function corresponding to their Navy officer designator or Marine Corps MOS.
LDOs are appointed as permanent officers in the grade of ensign in the Regular Navy. They are required to be an officer for 10 years in order to retire as an officer.
LDOs have 30 different designators. The 641X designator is for Administration Specialty LDOs.
LDOs have the following eligibility requirements: Time in service eligibility set at 8 to 14 years Time in service waivers considered for up to 180 days beyond maximum allowed active naval service Required to be an officer for 10 years in order to retire as an officer
