681X Cryptologic Warfare LDO

A Cryptologic Warfare Limited Duty Officer (LDO) in the US Navy is a technical leader and manager in the field of cryptology.

They are experts in: Signals Intelligence Computer Network Operations Electronic Warfare Communicating complex technical issues to Naval and Joint Commanders Delivering information to decision-makers Attacking, defending, and exploiting networks

The LDO community was authorized in 1947. LDOs are experts and leaders in their Navy enlisted rating or Marine Corps enlisted MOS. They are considered more the officer and less the technician compared to the chief warrant officer (CWO).

The Navy suspended CW LDO 681X accessions beginning with the FY- 23 In-Service Procurement Board. All 681X billets will be converted to either 781X or 181X.

To become a cryptologic warfare officer, you need: A baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00 An Officer Aptitude Rating (OAR) minimum score of 45 US citizenship The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance Be physically qualified for sea duty and world- wide deployable
