The U.S. Navy’s Intelligence Officer LDO designator is 683X. The Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program provides commissioning opportunities to qualified senior enlisted personnel and Chief Warrant Officers (CWOs).

Generally, intelligence officers also need to have at least a bachelor’s degree, ideally with a background in intelligence analysis and risk assessment.
