The MOS for an Aviation Warfare Officer, Pilot URL is 131X. Aviation officers make up about half of all Unrestricted Line (URL) officers in the Navy.
To be eligible for this MOS, you must: Have 1500 hours of experience Hold a commercial pilot certificate Meet military experience requirements Hold a foreign commercial/airline pilot license Pay a fee
Aviation Warfare Officers are trained to: Fly naval aircraft Operate the weapon systems of naval aircraft
To become an Aviation Warfare Officer, you must: Be an Unrestricted Line Officer (URL) Be qualified to fly heavier-than-air, or heavier and lighter-than-air type of aircraft as a pilot Have a permanent status of Ensign or above in the Regular Navy Be eligible for command at sea and ashore in the various naval aviation aircraft type/model/series (T/M/S) communities Be eligible to command carrier air wings and aircraft carriers afloat and functional air wings
