180X Special Duty Officer-Oceanography

In the U.S. Navy, 180x is the designator for a Meteorology/Oceanography Officer. These officers provide forecasts and geophysical analysis for the Navy.

The Navy uses four-digit numbers to identify the primary naval specialty qualifications required for a billet. These numbers are also used to categorize officer billets for management and identification.
