736X Aviation Ordnance Technician CWO
The U.S. Navy’s MOS for Aviation Ordnance Technician CWO is 736X. Aviation Ordnancemen are responsible for all aircraft ammunition. They pack guns, ammo, missiles, and bombs onto helicopters and fighter jets.
Aviation Ordnancemen perform the following duties: Requesting a breakdown of HERO conditions Verifying that no ordnance is in a location where it might be adversely affected Accounting, stowage, breakout, testing, maintenance, assembly, and transportation of airborne armament equipment, munitions handling equipment, air launched missiles, and conventional munitions Inspecting and maintaining magazines and Ready Service Lockers, including ensuring sprinklers and other safety
To become an Aviation Ordnanceman, you must: Complete the education requirements for joining the military Meet with a recruiter Take the ASVAB test Meet the qualifications Attend boot camp Complete “A” School training Complete strand training
Applicants must also demonstrate: Strong leadership traits Adaptability A body of work that equates to potential success as a Naval Officer Significant in-rate experience
